Fleas & Tick
What are fleas?
Fleas are small insects that survive by feeding on animal or human blood. Their bites can cause discomfort, itchiness, and irritation. Sometimes, fleas can infect people or pets with the germs that cause flea-borne typhus, plague, or cat scratch disease.

What are ticks?
Ticks are parasites, which means they live off a host. They feed on the blood of people and animals. Ticks might look like insects, but they’re arachnids, such as spiders. There are many types of ticks, and they live in different parts of the U.S.
